A court has delivered a verdict of unlawful death for a young mum who was killed after a catalogue of errors.

The Daily Mail is reporting that at the inquest it was heard by the jury that a number of errors made by the installation firm Electrical and Building services, based in Staffordshire lead to Miss Shaw’s death

In December 2007, Emma Shaw, twenty two, was mopping up water in her flat from a boiler that had a leak, when she received a fatal electric shock.

It was heard that a screw, which was used to hold up the plasterboard on a stud wall had gone through the electric cable, making this screw 'Live'. This then made the water from the leaking boiler 'live'.

Jurors ruled that testing on the flats was not carried out to a high standard and that there was a failure to ensure all of its workforce’s capabilities were properly monitored and developed, thus ruling Miss Shaw was unlawfully killed in the tragic event that took place in December 2007.

At Harrison Electrical we only use engineers specifically trained and qualified to test houses, flats and other property’s so that we can ensure only the highest standards are maintained.
